Robert is a native son of Richmond, Virginia. He is the eldest son of Robert and Ersell Dortch, Sr. and the grandson of Henry and Thelma Towns and Jameand Lucy Dortch. It is noted as his greatest achievement, as the proud father of two sons.
Robert is an entrepreneur and certified executive coach who has partnered with more than a hundred leaders in discovering holistic solutions to the dynamic demands they are facing in society today. As a philanthropic and nonprofit Subject Matter Expert (SME), he has been responsible for stewarding upwards of $100 million dollars into numerous domestic and international initiatives. As a speaker, lecturer, and facilitator, he has spoken nationally and internationally to diverse audiences in the public and private sectors and has reached more than one million people with his inspiring messages of courage, hope, love, and resilience--while also promoting the need for continued innovation to nurture and grow emerging communities.
Robert has degrees in Business Administration (B.B.A.) from James Madison University with a concentration in Human Resource Management and Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from the Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. He received his Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University and his Executive Leadership Coaching Certification through Georgetown University's Institution for Transformational Leadership.
Robert's design for his life allows him to contribute to communities locally and abroad as a philanthropist. He captures the human spirit as a photographer, and is a professed adventurer, who recently summited Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. His life's mission is to be a creative force for good in the world.
